The Associate Degree in Aquaculture has been specifically designed to offer student education and training in aquaculture and to prepare students for the workplace. This is achieved through a mix of vocational, scientific and technological activities together with work experience.In addition to fostering reliability, the course emphasises the development of skills which lead to independence in the work place and the ability to work in a team situation.

Special Requirements
|
Students may enter through a number of pathways:
(i) Satisfactory achievement (SA) or better in a minimum of two pre-tertiary 'C' subjects preferably with English, Mathematics or a Science subject.
(ii) Mature-age applicants with relevant experience may be given special consideration.
(iii) Students completing relevant VET/TAFE certificate level units may be given special consideration.

Further study options
|
Students completing the Associate Degree with a credit grade or better in the two key course units may articulate into the Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Environment).

Graduates are able to work in all facets of aquaculture production, including fish, shellfish, live feeds and algal culture, and systems maintenance.
