This degree is designed to prepare students for management careers in the dynamic and internationally-focused maritime and logistics industries and related areas.
This course is unique because it combines core business principles, for example accounting, finance, marketing, economics, business law and strategic management with more specific maritime industry units of study, such as ports and terminal management, commercial shipping and maritime economics. These are studied in combination with logistics-based units of study, to provide the necessary focus and an in-depth appreciation of the issues confronting the maritime and logistics industries. The course culminates with the Maritime Management Project that requires students to apply business research techniques to contemporary issues in the maritime and logistics industries.
The course is designed to prepare students for management careers in shipping, ports and terminals, freight forwarding, transport, import and export businesses, and other related areas.

Special Requirements
|
Satisfactory completion of Year 12 (TCE or equivalent) including Pre-Tertiary English OR successful completion of a Certificate in Maritime and Logistics Management.
AMC will consider applications from people who do not have the above qualification but who seek admission on the basis of experience gained in industry or government.
Students from a non-English speaking background also need to have an IELTS score of 6.

Further study options
|
Graduates with a minimum Credit average in third year units may be eligible for the Bachelor of Business (Maritime and Logistics Management) Honours Program, or, with appropriate work experience, a Graduate Certificate in Maritime and Logistics Management. Eligible students may enrol in a double degree, combining this degree with the Bachelor of Applied Science (Maritime Technology Management).
