This course prepares students for business and management careers in the maritime and transport industries. Students gain a working knowledge of core business areas including accounts and finance, statistics, economics, business law, marketing and maritime logistics.
In addition, technology units such as Intro to Ocean Engineering and Design, Ship Design and Operations and Maintenance Management introduce students to the high technology encountered in the shipping business. The course is complemented by maritime and logistics units such as Cargo Handling Systems Management and Ports and Terminals Management, in order to provide an understanding of the environment of the industries in which the students plan to develop a career. Students must undertake Business Communication in their first semester with AMC.

Special Requirements
|
Satisfactory completion of Year 12 (TCE, VCE, HSC or equivalent), preferably with Mathematics (see Bachelor of Engineering), Physics and English.
Students without pre-tertiary Mathematics should undertake a bridging course in mathematics prior to starting the course.
Students from a non-English speaking background also need to have an IELTS score of 6.
