The Bachelor of Engineering (Marine and Offshore Systems) is designed to meet the engineering needs of the marine and offshore industries by providing professional engineers with the specialised knowledge required by these industries.
The course is currently the only undergraduate programme in Australia servicing the above requirements, as it integrates relevant sections of the mechanical, electrical, systems, and civil engineering disciplines, while maintaining a maritime/offshore emphasis.
The course prepares students for employment in the marine/offshore engineering industries, including those involved in the design, development and maintenance of marine machinery, shipbuilding, marine classification societies and statutory authorities, power generation, offshore oil and gas production, and naval engineering.
The uniquely maritime focus of AMC together with the wide variety of specialised facilities, provide the graduates with a strong "hands on" approach to complement their theoretical studies, emphasising the engineering systems associated with the marine and offshore industries.
