Study Areas

A pathway qualification for students wishing to study in the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology. Students who successfully complete the Diploma of University (Science) will be able to apply for entry to the Associate Degree of Science or Bachelor of Science with credit.

Semester 1: Offered via the Centre for University Preparations and Pathways
Four Foundation Level units:
  • Learning at University
  • Experiencing Science
  • Research and Information Skills
  • Transition Maths - Methods
Semester 2: Offered via the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology
Two Foundation Level units from:
  • Foundation Chemistry
  • Foundation Maths
  • Foundation Physics
  • Foundation Life Science
  • Computer Applications
Plus two Introductory Unit (first year) electives from the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology

Special Requirements

The Diploma of University Studies (Science) is designed for applicants who do not meet entrance requirements for their chosen degree or fo those who would like a more supported or graded introduction to their studies.
