Study Areas

A pathway qualification for students wishing to study in the Faculty of Education. Students successful in the Diploma of University Studies (Education) will qualify for enrolment into a Bachelor Degree within the Faculty of Education with credit.

Semester 1: Offered via the Centre for University Preparations and Pathways
Four Foundation Level units:
  • Learning at University
  • Academic Writing
  • Research and Information Skills
  • Transition Maths - Applied
Semester 2: Offered via the Faculty of Education and Arts
Four Introductory Level (first year) units:
  • Thinking and Writing at University (compulsory)
Plus two from:
  • Curriculum and Pedagogy
  • Arts Education: Music & Visual Arts
  • Foundations & Theories of Literacy
  • Foundation & Theories of Numeracy
And one:
  • Elective (Faculty of Arts)

The Diploma of University Studies (Education) is designed for applicants who do not meet entrance requirements for their chosen degree or for those who want a more supported or graded introduction to their studies.
